Interview with HIV advocate Flaviah Namuwaya

Flaviah Dorothy Namuwaya is a young mother born and living with HIV. She found out about her status at age of 9. It was a turning point in her life that she resolved to make the fight against the HIV scourge her life’s major purpose. Flaviah holds a degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University. Her determination has seen her work with Joint Clinical Research Center (JCRC), Stigmaless Uganda, People in Need Agency (PINA), Uganda Network of Young People Living with HIV (UNYPA), Uganda Youth and Adolescent Health Forum and Reproductive Health Uganda some of which are the leading HIV scourge fighting organisations in Uganda. She served as a Peer Educator, PMTCT Ambassador, Cure Advocacy fellow, Community Advisory Board member, Global Community advisory board member for ACTG and a Youth Coordinator. Flaviah currently runs her own Non-Governmental Organization “She Cares”.
